🎭 Shreveport Closes Mardi Gras Season on High Note ⭐
Our city just wrapped up another fantastic Mardi Gras season, and what a celebration it was! Five major parades rolled through our streets, featuring hundreds of beautifully decorated floats and drawing thousands of enthusiastic attendees from across the region.
The festivities showcased the best of Shreveport's community spirit, bringing neighbors together for joy and celebration as we approached Ash Wednesday. From families lining the parade routes to local organizations putting their creative energy into stunning float displays, our 2026 Mardi Gras was a testament to what makes this city special.
The positive energy from the season continues to ripple through our community, reminding us why Shreveport celebrations are truly something special.
📊 Major Data Center Announcements Coming 🚀
Big economic development news is brewing in the Shreveport-Bossier area! Governor Landry is preparing to reveal significant details about upcoming data center projects that could transform our region's technological landscape.
The announcement involves a powerhouse coalition of local and regional partners including AEP Swepco, the Northwest Louisiana Finance Authority, and officials from Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish, the City of Shreveport, the City of Bossier, and the Town of Blanchard.
Three proposed data center projects are being developed by Bohler of Frisco, Texas, a firm specializing in civil engineering, land surveying, and architectural design services. This represents a major investment in our area's infrastructure and economic future.
🎤 "Mic Drop on Culture" Celebrates Black Voices 🔥
Shreveport's libraries are hosting an exciting series of free "Mic Drop on Culture" performances throughout Black History Month, brought to you by The TMM Project. These dynamic shows feature live music, dance, and spoken-word poetry, creating spaces for Black voices and culture to shine.
The performances are taking place at multiple library locations across Caddo Parish, and they're open to patrons of all ages. It's a beautiful way our community is celebrating diversity and providing accessible arts programming that brings people together.
These events represent exactly what makes Shreveport special—our commitment to culture, education, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone can experience the power of artistic expression.
